STORYTELLING SCENARIOS

What roles can 3D cultural heritage assets play in storytelling, and how can stories, meanings, and interactions take shape in immersive (XR) environments?

The following imaginary narratives are grounded in real-world digitised cultural heritage objects, sites, and environments. First imagined during co-creation sessions and later refined for publication, they bring together perspectives from heritage, tourism, and media to explore how 3D content can move beyond digitisation to support narrative building, spatial exploration, interaction, multiple perspectives, and audience engagement across digital and immersive contexts.

Each scenario uses a specific 3D asset as a starting point to explore XR storytelling opportunities and follows a simple beginning, middle, and end structure. They are not intended for development into applications. Instead, they serve as curated sources of inspiration for rethinking how meaning and narrative can emerge through 3D cultural heritage in immersive contexts.
