This year’s CHNT in Vienna offered a great opportunity for the 3D-4CH team to connect with colleagues from across the digital heritage community and to share the latest developments from the Online Competence Centre.
Together with 3DBigDataSpace and XRculture, we welcomed visitors at our shared booth, where participants explored our demos, tested interactive tools, and discussed current needs and challenges around 3D digitisation, workflows, and data management. These conversations once again showed how essential shared standards and accessible training resources are for institutions of all sizes.
A particular highlight was the UHDL Workshop, co-organised by several partners and chaired by experts in digital humanities and architectural history. The session offered a broad view of how data technologies are being used in architectural and urban research today, ranging from methodological questions to new infrastructures, interoperability efforts, and the growing role of AI. The workshop underscored how rapidly the field is evolving and how important it is to build common, sustainable frameworks for 3D data.
For 3D-4CH, CHNT 2025 was a valuable moment to exchange ideas, hear from practitioners, and share how the Competence Centre is supporting the sector with guidance, training, and capacity building. We would like to thank everyone who joined us over the conference days your insights and feedback help us shape the next steps of our work.
We look forward to continuing the dialogue and supporting the community as 3D heritage practices continue to grow and mature across Europe.
