21–23 January 2026 · Royal Museums of Art and History, Brussels
Address: Cinquantenaire Park 10, 1000 Brussels
The 3D-4CH Winter School is a three-day training and networking event dedicated to advancing the use of 3D technologies in cultural heritage. Bringing together professionals from across Europe, the Winter School offers a unique platform to exchange expertise, develop practical skills, and explore innovative approaches to digital heritage preservation and dissemination.
The programme features a dynamic mix of keynote lectures, a comprehensive hands-on workshop, and collaborative sessions, tailored for museum professionals, digitisation experts, and cultural heritage practitioners at all levels of experience. Participants will receive targeted training in 3D cultural heritage practices while contributing to the development of the 3D Online Competence Centre — a European hub for professional training, capacity building, and the sharing of best practices in the field.
Day 1: Hybrid format, open to a maximum of 100 participants on site.
Days 2 & 3: In-person workshop, limited to 25 participants.
The Winter School is particularly relevant for digital heritage professionals seeking to deepen their expertise and engage with peers shaping the future of 3D in cultural heritage.
You can secure your spot for the Winter School via Pretix (see link below). Registration is open until 31 October.
For Day 1, you can choose whether to join online or in person. On-site tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The workshop on days 2 and 3 is limited to 25 participants. When applying for the workshop ticket on Pretix, you will be asked to provide a motivational letter and upload a CV. The committee will review all applications and notify you of their decision on 07 November.
If you’d like to apply for a travel grant, simply check the “Bursary” option during registration on Pretix. Bursaries are available exclusively to workshop participants.
Organised in cooperation with the Twin it! Part II campaign (Europeana Foundation & European Commission), the Winter School is a key initiative of the 3D-4CH project, supporting the expansion of digital skills and knowledge within the European heritage sector.
You can reach the Orginising Committee at school[at]3d4ch-competencecentre.eu in case of questions.
The Winter School opens with an institutional welcome, setting the tone for three days of collaboration and exchange. Inspiring keynote speeches will frame the current landscape of 3D in cultural heritage, highlighting opportunities, challenges, and the growing importance of digital capacity building across Europe.
In the afternoon, participants will explore how to plan and introduce 3D projects within their institutions, drawing on best practices, real-life case studies, and practical guidance for long-term sustainability.
